Welcome to the world of Quilting Demon!
My Quilt entry for the Festival of Quilts
My name is Lesley Bywater and I live in Bristol. I have a passion for making things from fabric, wool and other fibres. I have been interested in crafts from a young age. My first knitted project was made in junior school, and was a yellow drop stitch scarf with pompoms. My granny let me use her treadle sewing machine for making dolls clothes, and I made my first pinwheel bed quilt aged 11. My enthusiam for crafting has continued to grow, and I have recently learnt how to spin and dye my own yarns for knitting. This means that I can now create unique yarns for my knitting projects. With all these raw fibres around, I have also found that my creative experimentation has now progressed into wet felting!
I still love to quilt and belong to The Piecemakers Quilt group in Bristol. I always have patchwork and quilting projects on the go - some small, some large. Many of these are embellished with embroidery and my own printed fabrics to create unusal one off pieces of art.

I exhibit my work at many craft fairs and local markets. Please see the calendar for up to date information of events.
I also have an online shop through folksy, at www.folksy.com/shops/QuiltingDemon where my latest work can be viewed and purchased.
